Therapeutic Ultrasound

Using sound waves to stimulate deep tissue healing, this therapy enhances circulation and improves flexibility.

Sound Waves That Soothe and Strengthen

Therapeutic Ultrasounds are used to transfer thermal energy to deep tissue muscles and ligaments to promote circulation. Many of our modalities focus on increasing circulation because sedentary muscles and ligaments become harder to rehabilitate over time.

Within an ultrasound unit, there is a vibrating crystal. These small vibrations are then transferred to the muscle’s surface and, in turn, increase blood flow (circulation) to an injury or joint a therapist wants to rehabilitate.

Therapeutic ultrasound is most commonly used for treating ligament or tendon injuries in our canine patients.
