What Your Pet Can Expect

What Happens at Their Initial Evaluation?

  • We’ll begin by obtaining your pet’s weight and taking posture and profile pictures for their file.
  • Then, our technicians will take a video of your pet walking the runway to observe their gait and movement.
  • During the exam, Dr Esquivel will perform a stance analysis, test joint flexibility, measure the muscle mass of each limb, and assess for any painful areas.
  • A tour of the clinic will be offered before you meet with Dr. Esquivel.
  • The final portion includes a one-on-one consult with Dr. Esquivel, where she’ll:
    • Discuss the findings of your pet’s exam
    • Outline the recommended treatment program and goals
    • Answer any questions you may have
  • An at-home exercise program will be emailed to you, and a technician will go over those exercises during your pet’s first treatment appointment, if needed.

What to Bring

…and what to do when you get here

What to Bring to Your Appointment:

Once we’ve confirmed your initial evaluation appointment, we’ll ask you to send your pet’s records over ASAP. We will also ask you to fill out an important patient form before your appointment. These are both timely and important!

Feed your pet only a light breakfast so we can be sure they stay interested in their training.

We use lots of treats to motivate your pet when possible!

If your pet has any dietary restrictions, please bring an appropriate, high-value treat to their appointment.

A Few Important Notes:

  • We are a small, locally owned and operated business, and we require payment at the time of service. Cash or cards are accepted.
  • If you or your pet are experiencing any signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, UTI, respiratory signs, etc.), we ask that you reschedule your rehab appointment and seek medical attention from your primary provider.
  • For everyone’s safety, pets with open wounds, festering sores, diarrhea, or vomiting will not be allowed in the underwater treadmill.
  • If you cancel/reschedule an initial evaluation with less than one week’s notice, there will be a $175 non-refundable deposit to reschedule.
  • We are not a primary veterinarian. Any non-rehab medical concerns should be directed to your regular vet.
